The Duurzame Logistiek [Sustainable Logistics] program wants to make an explicit and pragmatic contribution to the sustainability of the logistics chain by supporting 250 so-called ‘front-runners’. These front-runners are made up of companies within the logistics sector that wish to commit to the objectives of the program to reduce their CO2 emissions by at least 20% within a period of 5 years (reference year 2007). The Lean & Green Award is granted on the basis of a written plan, in which concrete CO2 targets for 2012/2015 have been recorded, and Critical Performance Indicators are determined.
